Our office will be happy to file dental insurance claims and estimates (pre-determinations) electronically on your behalf to your insurance provider. This will expedite your receipt of estimated treatment coverage and reimbursement, but please understand that your insurance is a benefit to you, and not our office. We do not accept direct assignment.
CAN YOU BILL ME FOR MY ACCOUNT BALANCE?
Payment is due when treatment is rendered. We accept cash, debit, Visa and Mastercard for your convenience.
CAN I CHANGE AN APPOINTMENT?
Of course! For changes to appointments, please contact the office at least 48 hours prior to your appointment. This will allow us to offer that valuable time to another patient in need of treatment. Failure to do so may result in a fee being assessed.
WHEN SHOULD MY CHILD FIRST SEE A DENTIST?
As a speciality pracitice in Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Westman's office is committed to educating families and children alike in the preventive skills required for life long oral health! We believe that an early involvement in dental visits is the key. Although we welcome children of all ages to make our practice their dental home, first visits should start as early as one year of age, six months after the first tooth appears in the mouth, or anytime before if there are questions or concerns. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to reach out to our office to make an appointment to start their children on the path to optimal oral health!
WHY A PEDIATRIC DENTIST?
Dr. Westman is a dental specialist who has completed additional years of university-based advanced studies in dentistry for children. This training includes all aspects of clinical dentistry for children as well as growth and development, orthodontics, sedation and management of dental anxieties for infants, children and teens. He specializes in the care of children with special needs including children with medical problems, developmental delays and autism.
WHAT SPECIAL TECHNIQUES DO YOU USE IN YOUR OFFICE TO PUT MY CHILD AT EASE?
Both “Tell-show-do” and distraction techniques are used with great success in our office. “Tell-show-do” is a very effective means of communication with children in an unfamiliar setting. Trust is gained through simple explanations, instructions and visual aids. Distraction is easily achieved with children that are comfortable in their surroundings!
AT WHAT AGE WILL MY CHILD HAVE TO SEE AN ADULT DENTIST?
Most children are ready to leave our pediatric office by the time they finish high school! We are happy to forward any relevant dental information as well as any x-rays that would benefit an adult dentist in continuing to provide optimal oral healthcare when the time comes.
ARE YOUR STERILIZATION TECHNIQUES CURRENT?
Yes! Sterilization is state of the art in our office. Everything that goes inside a patient's mouth is sterilized before each patient. We take pride in our sterilization center, so please feel free to ask any questions that you may have!
